One of the questions I get asked most often is:

1–2 minutes

read

“I have spent years writing a thesis. What should I do next?”

My answer usually surprises people.

Do not start with a book.

Start with an audience.

A book without an audience is like a battery without a load.

It contains potential energy.

But no impact.

Many researchers assume the journey looks like this:

Research → Thesis → Book → Impact

In reality, it often looks like this:

Research → Thesis → Book → Silence

The missing step is not publication.

The missing step is finding the ecosystem where the knowledge belongs.

Who needs to hear your ideas?

Who is struggling with the problem you studied?

Which communities, associations, practitioners, policymakers, businesses, or professionals could benefit from your insights?

Knowledge changes nothing until it reaches the people who need it.

A thesis is not the finish line.

It is the beginning of a conversation.

That is why I have become increasingly interested in helping experts, researchers, and experienced professionals transform hidden expertise into visible influence.

What do you think?

After completing a thesis, research project, or major professional journey, what is the biggest challenge: creating knowledge—or getting people to pay attention to it?
