FROM A STOOL UNDER THE MANGO TREE TO THE BOARDROOM

Uncle Rwamiti has a problem.

He likes his stool under the mango tree.

People come. They sit. Somebody complains about a son with three degrees and no income. Another worries about hospital bills. Someone else wonders why a perfectly good community programme is being ignored.

Uncle Rwamiti listens.

Then he tells a story.

People laugh.

Then somebody suddenly says:

“Eh! I had never looked at it that way.”

Now Uncle Rwamiti has discovered that boardrooms have the same problem.

Companies have excellent products nobody quite understands.

NGOs have important programmes communities don’t always embrace.

Governments have policies citizens struggle to connect with.

Hospitals, universities, insurers and development organisations have messages that somehow become PowerPoints before they become human.

So Uncle Rwamiti is temporarily leaving his stool. 😎

He is coming to your office.

Not to replace your marketing team.

Not to redesign your strategy.

But to ask one troublesome question:

“Where is the human story in all this?”

You bring the product, service, programme or social-change objective.

Uncle Rwamiti will look for the story that makes it matter.

The mango tree will wait.
