Hi, I’m Petero Wamala, writing from Uganda.
For more than thirty years, my working life revolved around petrol stations. These days, I spend more time exploring what happens when the scripts we were handed no longer work.
I’m a husband, a father and, at 66, still finding reasons to rethink things I once considered settled.
I’m also a writer, researcher and storyteller. I’m fascinated by a question: what do we do with everything we already know?
That question runs through my work on knowledge activation—and through Uncle Rwamiti: Your Move, where stories become games and you decide what happens next.
My interest in secular dharma is part of that journey: learning to see more clearly, respond more thoughtfully and hold our certainties a little more lightly. A monk without robes? Perhaps. Still learning, certainly.
Through Petero’s Paths, I share stories about the choices we face in families, work and everyday life. Sometimes they make us laugh. Sometimes they leave us uncomfortably close to ourselves.
I hope to create a space where we can pause, question the familiar and try a different move.
You can explore the stories and play the games at:

If a story brings someone to mind, share it with them.
I’m Petero. And Uncle Rwamiti is the uncle your parents should probably never have introduced you to. 😎
Your move.
